Yaga Shala

The Maha Kumbabishegam is a ceremony of consecration (blessing) and devotion that is held when a temple is newly constructed, moved, or rebuilt. When the deities in the current temple are transferred to the new temple, a number of elaborate rites are performed. The elaborate ceremonies are performed over the course of nearly five months. Invoking and transferring divine energies from an old or existing temple to a new or refurbished temple during this time involves performing exceedingly uncommon yet sacred procedures.

YAGASALAI POOJA
The Yagasalai, a fire altar used for sacrificial ceremonies, is now complete at the new temple. Here shall be the location of and sanctification for the holy vessels containing blessed water to be used for the Maha Kumbabishegam. Religious lines will be chanted in the morning and evening to continuously invite the energies of the Gods into the holy vessels.
